Provided by the adjutant general, these schedules were intended to help division commanders develop and train their divisions, with discretion given for customization. The document emphasizes the importance of practical hands-on training over classroom hours and includes detailed instructions for drills, musketry, trench warfare, and field fortifications, among other topics. The schedules reflect the evolving nature of warfare during World War I, with a focus on trench warfare and the use of new technologies such as light trench mortars and one-pounder guns. This book provides a valuable glimpse into the training methods and challenges faced by divisions during the war, offering insights into the strategies and tactics used by both sides.
