FRECKLES is his first book. In 1995, Professor Jonathan Rees, along with colleagues Ian Jackson and Tony Thody, identified the role of the MC1R in determining red hair, sun sensitivity and freckling. Over the next 10 to15 years he explored the genetic epidemiology of MC1R, its evolution, and its physiology in health and disease.
