Derek Shackleton was a phenomenal bowler in county cricket, a by-word for accuracy and penetration who took 100 wickets in a season twenty consecutive times. Yet he was only medium pace, and has been described as the slowest pace bowler to open the bowling for England, at least since World War 2. For that reason, it seems, he was much overlooked for international honours, playing only 7 Test Matches. All of this is captured in this well researched book. Ref ZZZ 2.
