Martin, who shared a great-grandmother with the writer Maria Edgeworth, was in contrast an Irish Unionist and a suffragette (vice-president of the Munster Women's Franchise League). Their work captures the Irish vernacular and the social mores of the time. With 35 illustrations by E. Å'. Somerville. Yellow cloth with black titles in a decorative script to the upper board.
