Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. VG. Generally clean wrappers, with evidence of edgewear, some rubbing to spine corners, and a reading crease on front wrap adjacent to spine. There is also a hand-lettered spine label that may be "LF" but looks rather more like the word "IF"; the label might be successfully removed, although we have opted to leave that decision to the book's new owner. Glued binding remains supple and sound. Internally clean, with no names, underlining, highlighting, marks, or dogears. Pages are clean and clear. Stated first edition thus, this reprinting was issued in 1988 to celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of the author's birth. Contains the titular novella and six short stories. Illustrated with a few B/W photos and a B/W drawing. From the back wrap: "Said the New York Times of Last September: 'It places Miss Hull in the company of novelists like Edith Wharton and Willa Cather. [it] will live as a classic equal in stature to Ethan Frome and The Red Badge of Courage.'".…
