Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. 2nd Edition. Original red cloth with the royal emblem of Oman in gilt to the front, and gilt titles to the spine, in the colour illustrated jacket 20 x 26cm. xiv + 168pp + 27 full-page plates featuring numerous colour photos. Covers near fine, bumped to the…spine ends. Interiors fine with some spotting. Jacket very good, price clipped, worn to folds, now in a removable protective sleeve. Ashley Tinson served with the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry in Germany, Kenya, Aden, Cyprus and Malaya, and on loan to the Aden Protectorate Levies, US Armed Forces, and Sultan's Armed Forces. While in Oman, he rescued from destruction a set of historical documents concerning acts of bravery, and prepared this book with the approval of Sultan Qaboos, whose portrait appears to the frontispiece, in the full dress uniform of a Field Marshall. This second edition brings the book up to date from 1977, when the three services had just become autonomous, to 1985, the 15th year of Sultan Qaboos' reign.
