Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Very Good +. Reprint. This is a portrait of Billy the Kid as reflected in a thousand pieces of a shattered mirror. The book is composed of vignettes, poems, photos, and fragments of prose, each of which is a little stroke of brilliance and all of which together paint an incredibly rich, violent, and moving portrait of this young man and his legend. Ondaatje is quite a conjurer here."Winner of Canada's Governor General's Award" on front cover 110p. illus. Inscribed by Author(s). Book.

Añadir al carritoTrade Paperback. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. 1st printing of the first paper edition with card covers published simultaneously with the smaller hardcover edition. First state with no mention of the Governor General's Award on the front cover and no blurbs on the back cover. A tight copy with no markings by a previous owner or retailer. Softening of the tips of the covers. The page edges are tanned, and the titles on the spine are not as bright as those on the cover yet the spine retains the same brown of the covers. Wear to the edges of the covers and the heel and crown of the spine has effected minor colour loss. A tea-coloured splash is present on pg. 25. The text is unaffected. The same stain is visible at the extreme fore-edge and exposed page edges -- and gradually diminishes -- over the next 60 pages. Remnants of the stain are also visible at the top edge of pp. 87-93. A stray pen mark at the top edge of pg. 15. There is a shallow break in the surface of the cover that spans the width of the spine. The bottom edge of the front cover is softly turned. Despite the accumulated blemishes this remains a collectible copy of a scarce book. Also available from this bookseller is a 7th printing of the hardcover edition in a set with the 2nd edition of The Dainty Monsters and a signed 1st of Handwriting.
