Sanford/Shapiro wrote half his books after the age of 80. (Gives us old guys hope). The author published a five volume autobiography for which he was awarded The PEN Faulkner Award and the L.A. Times lifetime achievement award. Both Sanford and his wife Margarite Roberts were involved in the film industry during the McCarthy witch hunts and were subsequently blacklisted for over ten years for their left leaning actions. This book is a very interesting group of observations, conversations and scenes that take place between 1936 and the end of WWII. Book is very fine, scarce and collectible. The author has signed the book in a very interesting manner, John Shapiro/ Julian Sanford. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall 1st Printing. Signed by Author(s).…
