BOOKS SHIP THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WRAPPED IN PADDING, IN A BOX. Originally printed in 1849, this book was the first bound treatise on photography ever published in America. For the first time, the daguerreotype process was described in print, the American improvements to the process were outlined and the chemical mixtures that worked best were detailed. In addition, Snelling provided detailed instructions on the paper negative process. Text by Henry H. Snelling; introduction by Beaumont Newhall. 228 pages; b&w illustrations sprinkled throughout; 4.75 x 7.5 inches.
