Featuring over forty years of shoe design, this definitive monograph on the life and work of Manolo Blahnik, one of the titans of postwar fashion. Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Fine. 1st Edition. Manolo Blahnik: Fleeting Gestures and Obsessions; principal photography by Michael Roberts; Rizzoli, New York, 2015. Printed in Italy. First printing. Manuel "Manolo" Blahnik Rodríguez ( born 27 November 1942) is a Spanish fashion designer and founder of the eponymous high-end shoe brand. Manolo Blahnik's flagship store remains in Old Church Street in the Chelsea district of London. Blahnik's boutiques are located in London, New York, Geneva, Madrid, Barcelona, Moscow, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo, and Taipei. Bloomingdales (for which he created his first American collection), Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue carry his line in the United States and newly opened in Dubai Mall. Blahnik was elevated to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1987. In 2007, Blahnik was appointed as an honorary Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his service to the British fashion industry. From the Foreword All these pages that you are about to peruse and perhaps read are the fruits of a lifetime spent in the pursuit of beauty. In them, you will encounter a very eclectic group of people, objects, and places, which, over the years, have conjured in my emotions something indescribable. To some, the images may be new. If so, it gives me great pleasure to introduce them to you. Others may find they are familiar with the better-known ones. In such case, I hope that showing them alongside my work will place these formidable classics in a new light Manolo Blahnik. This folio format book, 488 pages measuring 329mm X 245mm is in fine condition in a fine box. The photographs are stunning. A high-quality book typical of Rizzoli. This large and very heavy volume will require additional postage.
