Foreword by Frederick Brown Harris. The author, born in 1886, attended and later taught at the Downen Country School. He entered George Washingtion University in 1911 and graduated as valedictorian of his class. During World War I he served in the Army, and tried a number of court martial cases. Returing to Washington in 1920, he went into private practice specializing in tax law. He participated in Supreme Court proceedings and was the author of a number of works on federal taxation. This book about country life is the culmination of an effort that started nearly a half century before its eventual publication. Good in good dust jacket. Signed by author. DJ ahs some fading, soiling, wear and edge tear. Minor edge flaw to a couple of page ( surplus paper at edge).
