Richard E. Early received his education at two quaker schools and at Pembroke College, Oxford. His adult life has been spent, like those of his forebears as a blanket maker in Witney, Oxford shire and, during the latter years of his life he was Chairman of the company. During the Second World War he served as a Quaker in the Friends' Ambulance Unit and became a prisoner-of-war. This book is a novelisation of the life of the author's forebear Thomas Early who was apprenticed to the trade of blanket weaving in Witney, Oxfordshire in 1669. This dedicated copy has been signed by the author on the obverse of the f.e.p. Ref HH 5. Signed by Author(s).
