Loosely inserted hand written signed letter dated Kidderminster June 11, 1977. "To dear Jimmy" mentioning a reunion. Original publisher's binding in blue, lettered gilt at spine. Photographic dust jacket, lettered black with a colour photograph of the author sitting on a cliff admiring the Cornish landscape. Black and white photographs illustrate the text. Frank Baker (1908 - 1983), of course, wrote 'The Birds' his avian apocalypse novel The Birds (1936) which went largely unnoticed when first published, but after the release of Alfred Hitchcock's film in 1963 it became well known.in fact it started to fly off the shelf.
