Large format hardback (approx. 30 by 26 cm) with no dust jacket containing three "photo essays" about Java, Sumatra and Bali. 31 pages of introductory essay followed by approximately 150 unnumbered pages of full colour photographs with some accompanying text. Photographs by Co Rentmeester, text originally by Hella S. Haase and translated and adapted by Yazir Marzuki. The cover is brown faux-leather with gilt T&H logo on the front and details on the spine, and is in very good condition with no damage or signs of wear apart from some creasing at the top of the spine. Inside, the book has some light foxing on the endpapers and tanning to the edges and the bottom of some of the introduction. Photographic pages are clean and unmarked.
