His wound became very painful until a galah pecked the dove's foot, and beautiful colours splashed on to all the birds. Except the crow because he complained about their noise and tried to chase them away. He remains black, and the other birds have the colours that we see today. This beautiful Aboriginal legend has been adapted to be read and understood by children.
