The author provides a comprehensive historical overview of the subject, examining its origins in the early 17th century through the contributions of notable mathematicians like Napier, Briggs, and Wallis. The book delves into the theoretical framework of logarithms, explaining their properties and the techniques for their calculation. It also demonstrates the practical applications of logarithms in various fields, including navigation, surveying, and astronomy. By tracing the evolution of logarithmic functions, the author presents a deeper understanding of their significance in the history of mathematics and their continued relevance in scientific and engineering disciplines today.
