Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book records the proceedings of an 1802 action in which Mr. John Hevey was the plaintiff, and Charles Henry Sirr, Esq., was the defendant. The text provides a lengthy and nuanced exploration of the legal and political climate in Dublin, Ireland, in the wake of the 1798 rebellion. The author presents a detailed account of the events leading up to the legal action, including Hevey's initial arrest, his controversial conviction for treason, and his eventual pardon and release from prison. The text also includes a close examination of the trial itself, with detailed observations on the arguments presented by both sides and the larger implications of the case for civil liberties and the rule of law in Ireland at the time. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in Irish history, the legal process, or the complex relationship between politics and justice.
