Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a collection of classical Spanish poetry from some of the greatest names in the genre, such as Quevedo and Forner, and others now less well-known, such as Iglesias and Cienfuegos. The poems have been carefully selected to represent the range and depth of Spanish poetry, from the playful and satirical to the profound and philosophical. These great poets, writing at the tail-end of Spain's Golden Century and in the turmoil that followed, reacted against the dominant poetic trends of the time and explored the limitations of their medium and the themes and insights they could express within it. The collection offers a unique insight into the development of poetic forms and styles, as well as a journey through the history of the Spanish language itself. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
