It includes the first known written account of his life, and two previously unpublished miracles attributed to Rolle. The author traces the arc of Rolle's fascinating journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of England's most renowned anchors, with a particular focus on the development of his religious beliefs and philosophy. The book explores central themes within Rolle's work, such as his unique brand of mysticism, his devotion to the name of Jesus, and his profound insights into the nature of contemplative life. The author argues that Rolle's influence on later medieval religious thought was profound, reaching far beyond his lifetime.
