Inscribed First Edition, First Printing of this basketball memoir by Hall of Famer and New York Knick legend Willis Reed. This volume tracks Reed's efforts to bounce back from a injury-riddled 1971-72 season. In May 1970, Reed famously persevered in one of the most fabled injury-related episodes in sports history. The Knicks were pursuing their first NBA title, battling the mighty Los Angeles Lakers in the Finals. Reed, the season's league MVP, was the team's stalwart leader. In Game 5, he suffered a serious leg injury and predictably missed Game 6. In Game 7, he stunned the basketball world by hobbling out as part of the starting five and scoring the Knicks first two baskets. Momentum established by their resolute captain, the Knicks steamrolled the Lakers. Inscribed by Willis Reed on the front endpaper to actor P.R. Paul ("Fame" television series.) 192 pages, illustrated. The book has minimal sign of previous use. The dust jacket has a tear at the bottom edge of the front cover near the spine. Signed by Author(s).
