Part two describes an investigation of sexual behaviour in present day society, a direct inquiry among 1289 men and 1241 women, from which patterns are projected towards the coming decades. Part three describes and uses a computer simulation model to predict the future incidence and prevalence of HIV-infection, of cases of AIDS and of deaths from AIDS. Alternative preventative measures are then evaluated.
