This classic science fiction and horror story, originally published in 1925, features a mad scientist secretly performing experimental head transplantations on bodies stolen from the morgue and a beautiful young woman, hired as his assistant, who befriends the head of Professor Dowell. Although written more than a hundred years ago, this "foresees not only organ transplants but also . the use of mental hospitals as prisons and the manipulation of the news media."
