Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: new. Hardcover. Magic: An Occult Primer is divided into two sections; 'Magical Theory' and 'Magical Practice.' Also included is a substantial set of Appendices. In the 'Magical Theory' section David Conway presents a very concise accounting of the philosophy behind magic. Conway begins with an expose of magic within the confines of natural law, taking the time to meticulously find corollary for the basis of magic. He then takes us into an exposition of the Kabbalah and broader cosmological concerns. Conway drills down into daily practice and further explores the basic training necessary for a magician in this day and age. The 'Magical Practice' section begins with the preparations necessary for the practice of magic. Conway begins this section with several tables of correspondences that will prove helpful to even the advanced magician. He continues with an examination of timing of rituals as well as the place and ritual equipment necessary for rites. Conway then provides master rituals presented for both Kabbalistic and Egyptian approaches. He also presents detail on Astral Project, Talismanic Magic and Prophecy.Magic: An Occult Primer concludes with a deep set of Appendices, presenting detailed magical recipes, and examination of magical alphabets and an extensive Occult Who's Who.'Nowadays there are countless books on Magic. This one is different. As different as when it first appeared in 1972. What makes it different is that it tells the reader--expert or beginner, sceptic or believer--what Magic is, why Magic works and, most importantly, how Magic can be worked. Few books do all three, certainly not with so much style, scholarship and humour. This new edition, enlarged and updated by the author, is certain to delight old friends and win over countless new ones. I highly recommend it.' - Maxine Sanders Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability.

Paul Huson's Dame Fortune's Wheel Tarot illustrates for the first time the earliest, traditional tarot card interpretations collected by Jean-Baptiste Alliette, aka Etteilla, a Parisian fortune-teller. Unlike other modern decks, the images are unadorned by the occult speculations of Mathers, Waite, or Crowley. This book is a pictorial companion to the deck. In addition to detailed descriptions of the cards' symbolism and significance--with both upright and reversed meanings--Dame Fortune's Wheel Tarot provides meticulous full-color reproductions of Huson's original designs for all 79 cards, including an extra Significator card specified by Etteilla that may be used optionally, and full instructions for how to lay out the cards for divination. Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: new. Paperback. The Witches' Almanac has long featured black and white images of beautiful woodcuts, fantastical creatures, tarot cards, astrological features and constellations, as well as line drawing selected from the folklore of our global community. The Witches' Almanac Coloring Book brings together a larger format of these images presented in past Almanacs (in addition to images that have not been presented) allowing the inner artist to emerge in a mediation of color.Neatly packed into seven distinct sections, the first fittingly is Woodcuts. When they first appeared in Europe, woodcuts had thick outlines and little shading. A printer inked the block and applied light pressure to transfer the lines to paper. After the ink dried, another craftsperson might color the images by hand. In other words, the process was very much like a coloring book today, except that today you are the colorist. The six remaining sections are Constellations, The Planets, Creatures, Egyptian, Americas and Tarot. Each provides for the artist the space to meditate on the imagery imbuing each with color. The aspiring Tarot reader should especially enjoy the final section where each of the 22 Major Arcana and the four Aces are provided. Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: new. Paperback. If it's the world of witchcraft or the craft of witches that interests you or you have a hankering for some great folklore or mythology, find a dose a day in this popular and indispensible reference guide of notable celebrations, astrological forecasts, and other lesser known but interesting facts. For example, did you know:* A single magpie is especially associated with bad luck. Only one bird croaking persistently around a house sounds the death knell of the occupant while two magpies foretell good fortune. * All hail garlic! During WWII, British doctors used garlic as a remedy for gangrene and mixed the herb's juice with peat moss to bandage wounds. Funny that when Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip visited Rome a few years ago, the chefs were told to leave the menu garlic free! * The black cat may be the best known Halloween feline, but orange-black-and-white calico cats have long enjoyed a connection with ill omens and the weird, too. That's because this cat's crazily mixed colors seem to mirror a chaotic inner personality.* Dubbed by Eric Clapton "the most important blues musician that ever lived," bluesman Robert Johnson is said to have sold his soul to the devil. The story has it that at a crossroads outside Robinsonville, Mississippi, Johnson met a large black man who took Johnson's guitar and tuned it for him in exchange for his soul. Now there's a case of sold-soul music!* The ash tree is well named, since it is one of the few trees that will burn easily and steadily when still green. Encased in winged pods that resemble the keys that were used in medieval locks, this tree's seeds are known as ash keys. In Northern Europe, the ash tree is thought to connect the underworld, earth, and heaven. The Witches' Almanac contains herbal secrets, advice about animals, mystical incantations, sacred rituals and many a curious tale of good and evil -- just what every adept, occultist, witch and mortal alike should turn to every day for tips and tricks and thrills! Since 1971, "The Witches Almanac" has been the source of fun, wisdom, trivial, and magical lore for thousands of readers throughout the world. Modeled after the "Old Farmers Almanac," it includes information related to the annual Moon calendar, legends, rituals, herbal secrets, interviews, and spells. Shipping may be from our Sydney, NSW warehouse or from our UK or US warehouse, depending on stock availability.
