Due to this scandal 'The History and Antiquities of the City of Bristol' performed poorly when first published. In a rebacked calf binding, with new endpapers. Externally, smart. Minor bumping and rubbing to the extremities. A few small patches of rubbing and light marks to the boards, rubbing a little heavier to the rear board. Light rubbing and a couple of marks to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spotting. Prior owner's ink inscription to the head of the title page. Bound without the folding map to the frontispiece. Very Good. book.
