Paperback. Condición: Near fine in wraps. First Edition. 21 x 30cm near fine exhibition catalogue with glossy covers and single page colour reproductions showing the sculptures of the Israeli born artist. Working across a diverse range of media including painting, drawing, print, textiles, sculpture and furniture, Tal R questions our conceptions of and presumptions about our surrounding reality what we re seeing and where its meaning lies. Often, he employs apparently simple compositional devices and motifs from everyday life to create complex, atmospheric worlds that, beginning with the recognisable and known, expand or collapse into spaces of enchantment or ambiguity, heady with atmosphere and colour.…

Alan Charlton's statement from the booklet illustrated with black and white reproductions, reads: 'In the Summer of 1989, I was invited to make an exhibition at the Castello Di Rivoli, a restored castle outside of Turin. I could use 8 rooms of the castle, so I decided to use the different rooms to divide the paintings into groups, showing the changes in the shapes and structures I have used in the last twenty years. I selected paintings that not only related to each other, but also which related to the space of the rooms. No painting was specially made for the castle, but I hope that there is a feeling that each painting belongs exactly where it is.'.…
