In the first one, the aim is to model and simulate a solar-powered, single-effect, absorption refrigeration system using a flat-plate solar collector and LiBr-H2O mixture as the… working fluid. The cooling capacity and the coefficient of performance of the system are analyzed by varying all independent parameters, namely: evaporator pressure, condenser pressure, mass flow rate, LiBr concentration, and inlet generator temperature. The cooling performance of the system is compared with conventional vapor-compression systems for different refrigerants (R-134a, R-32, and R-22). The cooling performance is also assessed for a typical year in Tampa, Florida. In the second problem, a numerical model is developed for a typical food retail store refrigeration/HVAC system to study the effects of indoor space conditions on supermarket energy consumption. Refrigerated display cases are normally rated at a store environment of 24C (75F) and a relative humidity of 55%. If the store can be maintained at lower relative humidity, significant quantities of refrigeration energy, defrost energy and anti-sweat heater energy can be saved. 112 pp. Englisch.

Primary contribution of this work was in adopting a probabilistic learning approach to achieve soft classification of the prostate for automatic initialization and evolution of a shape and region prior deformable models for prostate segmentation in TRUS images. Region based energy was determined from region based statistics of the posterior probabilities. Graph cut energy minimization framework was adopted for prostate segmentation in MRI. Posterior probabilities obtained in a supervised learning schema and from a probabilistic segmentation of the prostate using an atlas are fused in logarithmic domain to reduce segmentation error. Seven themes emerged from the data: providing efficient, effective, customer-focused care; importance of communication; importance of collaboration; importance of support of leadership; discrepancies with customer satisfaction scores; importance of customer satisfaction scores to organization's success; and effects of staffing on customer satisfaction. We have carried out the stepwise deposition of binary, ternary and quaternary Bi Se , MoxBi2Se5, MoBiCuSe4 and MoBiAgSe4 thin films respectively for PEC application by APT. Bi Se thin films were deposited using different chelating agents as well as the effect of addition of molybdenum to binary Bi Se were studied. The properties of MoxBi2Se3+2x with varying molybdenum content were studied. Moreover, the effect of copper and silver content on the optostructural, morphological and electrical properties of chemically deposited MoBi -xCuxSe4 and MoBi2-xAgxSe4 thin films respectively were studied. Additionally the role of organic surfactant molecules in modifying surface morphology and crystallinity of the deposits were studied. Further the PEC performance of all the samples deposited by APT was studied in I-/I - redox electrolyte using graphite rod as a counter electrode. 300 pp. Englisch.
