Carolin, Branch Master of…the Company of Master Mariners, Melbourne, Victoria. As per inscription in the book, the TLS is also dated 12th November 1994, and relates details about publication of the book, noting Rothery has been a member of the Company of Master Mariners in Western Australia since 1963. Also includes laid-in printed business card of the author. Illustrated with numerous b&w photographs and maps. From rear cover: "The autobiography covers twelve distinct chapters, mingled with history, people and cultures, with the voyages around Australia, and colourful countries and islands of the Pacific and Indian Oceans. The four years of Naval Wartime service being described in interesting detail. In recounting this absorbing life of a seafarer, the work includes photographs and maps, allowing the reader to share those memories and experiences". Numerous pencil notations throughout, most correcting text mistakes. Slight rubbing to cover, otherwise a very nice clean tight solid softcover copy. 216pp. Uncommon title.
