Very good condition. William Drummond, born 1585 at Hawthornden in Scotland, is best known as a poet adept in the sonnet form. His prose writings are less appreciated, "A Cypress Grove" being the most outstanding example of these, here in an obscure private press edition.

Ron Cobb 1937-2020 was one of the greatest political cartoonist of the 1960's/70's. Including the Vietnam war to inner city race riots, from gun culture to the felling of ancient forests, etc. He also designed record sleeves, postcards and book covers, films etc. The political cartoons stopped for the film industry. Ronald Ray Cobb was an American-Australian artist. As well as being an editorial cartoonist he worked on numerous major films including Dark Star, Star Wars, Alien, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future, etc He even had a credit as director for the film Garbo in 1992. He was born in Los Angeles , though spent most of his life in Australia. As there is no title page, we can only guess & from many cartoons with C Sawyer Press & from the net published by Sawyer Press, but could be Cobb himself, also the book not dated, but copyright 1970. Size approx 20 x 20cm.

Between 1966-76, Cobb served as a powerful voice for America's anti-establishment generation, covering the Vietnam War, inner city race riots, and environmental issues, to name a few. Cobb was also known as a Disney animator and production artist for a number of major science fiction films. At the time this was published he was the L. A. Free Press's editorial cartoonist. Most of these drawings first appeared in the Los Angeles Free Press Newspaper. This is his first published collection by Sawyer Press.

Vintage social awareness poster by white artist Ron Cobb. A left-wing call for civil unrest in the US during 1966 and 1967, a movement that resulted in more than 150 documented race riots that took place during the summer of 1967, a wave that led President Lyndon B. Johnson to establish the National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders, also known as the Kerner Commission. American-Australian artist Ron Cobb has worked as a cartoonist, film designer and writer. In 1965, at age 28, following a stint in the US Army, Cobb began freelancing for the radical Los Angeles Free Press, and quickly gained notice as one of the finest radical to left-leaning political cartoonists of the mid-1960s and early 1970s. In 1967 Cobb designed the cover for Jefferson Airplane's 1967 album, "After Bathing at Baxter's." Beginning in the 1970s Cobb began work as a highly successful production designer in the film industry. Among the films Cobb contributed to are "Dark Star" (1973), Alejandro Jodorowsky's uncompleted "Dune," "Star Wars" (1977), "Alien" (1979), "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981), "Conan the Barbarian" (1982), "Back to the Future" (1985), "Total Recall" (1990), and "Southland Tales" (2006), among many others. 22.5 x 33.25 inches. Very Good plus, with 1.5 inch diagonal strip of cello tape to the recto of each of the top corners, a small touch of soiling to the bottom right, and faint rubbing and creasing overall.
