On the 18th of April 2013, Anouk Kruithof and two assistants went to Wall Street in New York City and built a temporary installation of 14 framed prints of different sizes on the edge of the city's pavement. The prints looked like pixelated monochromes, but were in fact illustrations blown up to a maxi…mum size (3200% in Photoshop) of images found by using Google, searching the word "stress". Anouk Kruithof asked pedestrians to look at the installation and then had conversations about the pixelated monochromes, the meaning of this project and the potential interpretations of the work. Kruithof asked the people involved if they would like to buy a print, both engaging a commercial gesture and condemning the scarcity of the city dwellers encounterings. She sold 8 of the 14 prints bought by 7 participants when the day's rain warded off further efforts. Kruithof is not allowed to conduct monetary transactions, so that once a participant told her a price for the print, she actually gave it away for free, thus creating an imaginary sale.

"59 Positions" is a 20-minute video, filmed in 1992 using a stationary camera in an empty, unadorned room with a concrete floor, consisting of fragments of actions each lasting just a few seconds, in which we glimpse the artist Erwin Wurm and his friends bundled up in sweaters, pants and shirts, seeming…ly oblivious to the usual purposes of these articles of clothing. Their bodies are contorted into ridiculous poses, under the influence of a strange choreography made up of motionless "objects" that tremble almost imperceptibly. Wurm thus aims to explore "whether a physical action can become a sculpture and if so, at what point the transition takes place. " By making use of looped sequences without movement, his aim was to find out if and when this transformation might happen. Wurm was so impressed by the visual force and immediacy of these curious anthropomorphic forms that he decided to create a series of colour photographs based on this video, thus reconnecting with this medium in which he had often worked in the 1980s. After "Self-Portrait as 47 Pickles", "59 Positions" is the second title in the series of artist's books by Erwin Wurm published by RVB Books.

All of the participants printed contact sheets for their photographs and then wrote captions for them in their native languages.

The images in his series Splashes are characteristic of this approach: here, the focus is always on the "backdrop". Over the…course of several evenings, the photographer invited friends to pretend to pose for him - which allowed him to "steal" the situations taking place behind them. The photographs, taken with early cellphone cameras, have, for the most part, been reframed, so as to show only the situations and compositions that originally interested the artist. This intrusion of two animals unintentionally witnessing human violence had…me look for drone strike videos produced by the U. S. , Afghan or British army with moments or details that do not belong to the combat but are instead a part of ' normal life ', the off- camera's of an asymmetrical war. These photographs of operative videos, supporting military propaganda, show the conflict through the drone's eye. The operator is only looking for his target, but life carries on next to the explosion. These movements, instants of existence, signify humanity. Two donkeys in a war zone is a search, by cropping and subverting operative images, for traces of life inside pictures of death.

Scientists were particularly intrigued by whether natural formations were the result of mathematical theorems. The Dismantlements series explores this question from a unique perspect…ive. While we are accustomed to viewing landscapes as something entirely fixed, they are, in reality, in perpetual motion. Even massive rocks, which appear to be frozen in time, have been transformed through various geological processes. Noémie Goudal photographed a mountain, printed it on water-soluble paper (which dissolves on contact with water), and then adhered it to a transparent tarp, cutting along the edges of the mountain to create a reproduction approximately two meters wide. She then positioned this reproduction in front of another mountain, or more generally in front of a landscape. Through the effect of perspective, the reduced mountain blends seamlessly into the landscape.

It will end in 2017 with a final chapter covering the field of glaciology.

In his book Octopus, he turns his attention more specifically to mountain landscapes and their glaciers. Over the last ten years, Harries has produced a corpus of photographs of mountains around the world, insp…ired in particular by the geological processes behind their formation and their morphological features. His experience with still life photography has also inspired him to hone in on certain geological details. Recently, his discovery of Marianne Moore's poem "An Octopus" (1924) changed how he views his own photographs, prompting him to organize them differently. He has therefore put together a more freely composed sequence, emulating Moore's approach by overlaying images created in differing ways and instilling a bold formal dialogue that encourages a new appreciation of mountain landscapes.

The cave presents itself as a closed universe, a quantifiable set of signs within a spectacular natural architecture, a place where time seems to stand still. Durand purposefully distances himself from objective representations, in order to offer a more intimate, more subjective window into the cave and its art. To achieve this, he combines colour filters with multiple exposure techniques. Durand thus defines a space of creation and non-objective representation, one able to focus the attentions of each viewer in a different way. Rather than working with colour in a realist mode, he uses it to suggest an element of information or a specific code, as in astronomical or microscopic photography. Durand unearths the original idea of a cave of dreams and imagination, leading us on a psychedelic journey through one of the world's most celebrated sites for prehistoric art. Born in Paris in 1963, Philippe Durand was the winner of the second Chauvet cave photography competition. The book is the result of his privileged access to the original cave for a series of private visits, each giving rise to an unforgettable photography session.

For the book Happiness is the only true emotion, he worked on a panel of portraits given by the Pain Express Set from Stirling University in Scotland, he selected one emotion per person, reframed images and saved only the face. The artist manipulated each photograph and worked on its materiality to get more expressive images. These portraits become a vector of emotion. Each picture is then submitted to the Microsoft Cognitive Emotion API challenging the accuracy of these systems. The Emotion API only recognises Happiness with certitude.

Hardback. Condición: New. In a digital age of ever-faster technological innovation, Douglas Mandry explores the photographic medium. Using analog methods, he retouches each image by hand, using either vintage photographic processes or by physically cutting and pasting the images he works with. For "Unseen Sights", published in t…he book Equivalences, the Swiss photographer was inspired by early 20th century postcards from the Middle East. Using acrylic paint and an airbrush, he colorized black-and-white prints of landscapes in Cappadocia, Turkey, then re-photographed the compositions. Rather than merely reproducing images, the book offered the artist an opportunity to re-interpret the pictures. Playing with layers of color in print, the artist created a new representation - using, this time, a mechanical process. The original images merge with the transformed pictures, sketching out a sequence with a non-linear narrative. The title of the book pays tribute to Stieglitz's famous "Equivalents" works, which depict vertical fragments of sky and clouds and are widely considered the first abstract photo series.

These adverts, at first set aside from the narrative of the project, appear in the sequence as animated elements, as real and alive as the scenes that are documented in the project.
