The little pamphlet gives an array of information and instruction on the fundamentals of basketball with various coaches from national programs contributing. There are diagrams of basketball plays, pictures of winning teams, and various advertisements on basketball shoes available through Hood Rubber Company. N/A pages.

Published in Maritime Canada, The Mysterious East was a bit of a counterculture/underground magazine with articles and commentaries on politics, drug laws, the arts, the environment and civil rights. This issue complete with the 46-page illustrated birth control insert. Newsprint, stapled wraps, 30 pages, illustrated. Moderate edgewear, crease to bottom left corner of back cover, short tears to bottom edge of back cover. There should be two staples holding this paper together, but since there are no staple holes at the top of the spine or in the centre of the magazine, there seems to have never been one there (the bottom staple holds firm). Insert is VG-F, double-stapled and intact. Uncommon. Size: 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Newspaper.

Outer wrappers (only) rather age toned, soiled and a bit edgeworn, with several small discreet archival mends. First edition, decently tight and really nice. Unusual example of the days when Goodyear was not only synonymous with car tires! Their rubber flooring came in various sizes, colors and patterns and mimicked marble, planks -- you name it. Rather scarce.
