Softcover (Saddle-stapled). Condición: Good. First Thus. In September 1942, a farmer found a quantity of oyster shells while digging out a ferret. Although there was no surface evidence, and no record or legend of anything unusual at the site a trial trench was opened. At 18 inches a mosaic floor was found. Owing to weather cond…itions, no further excavation was possible till the spring of 1943, when weekend work allowed for further investigation. Rooms I and II were found together with a small rubbish heap in the angle of the rooms. A grid of trial holes 25 feet apart laid down during the summer of 1944, gave evidence of an extensive building or buildings and it was decided to suspend excavation until I had more leisure to plot a definite plan and had purchased the land. Work has been continuous each summer since 1956. Revised Edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 38 pages. Rear cover slightly grubby. no Dust Jacket as published.
