Paperback. 128p., numerous b&w photoillustrations amongst the double columned text, softbound in 9.5x6.5 inch color wraps (an odd combination of paperback and magazine), presswork on slightly acidic stock (more substantial than newsprint) but only mildly toned, expect a little edgewear and abrasion to covers with tiny corner-tip turnings, generally sound and clean within (staples are exposed as issued, no rust whatsoever) except for a small dampstain at the foot of terminal leaves, and unmarked by human hand. A good to very good copy. FYI, "jazz expert" Woodward has edited several jazz magazines, run a jazz record shop, been a concert Master of Ceremonies, &c. He sees himself a bridge between Black and white audiences, especially helpful to white novices, and has depicted the players with pix numbering about half & half, although reality would dictate a preponderance of Black.
