In this case, this study takes into account the joint ventures signed between G…écamines and certain foreign firms, under the aegis of the Congolese government. Our investigations revealed that this JV formula did not produce the expected results because of, among other things, large-scale corruption, failure to honour commitments, poor governance, lack of transparency, arbitrary distribution of shares, etc. As a result, it turned out that neither Gécamines nor the government, let alone the Congolese people, really benefited from these partnerships (JVs). This suggests that instead of a win-win partnership, there was instead a win-lose partnership. This situation mainly reflects the Congolese side, which probably did not benefit from these partnerships. Thus we suggested: the proposal of a bill on general provisions applicable to JVs in the DRC, the development of a standard JV model, the creation of a JV monitoring observatory, modelling of the JV with emphasis on risk assessment, the overall re-qualification of JV agreements in order to rationalise them, the application of appropriate management to JVs to make them effective. 68 pp. Englisch.
