Cloth Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. First Edition. Barely visible 3/4" closed tear at front bottom corner of dustjacket (neatly scotch-taped on interior) and some rubbing (commonly visible on dark-colored dustjackets) elsewise, a bright, clean, tight copy sans other flaws. "Ever since Governor Haldimand opened the territory west of the Ottawa River for settlement in 1784, the story of Ontario has been woven around the experiences of farmers and the rural way of life. The first loyalist settlers established an Ontario tradition of pioneering spirit, hard work, dedication and endurance in the face of all that nature could, and did, throw their way. After two hundred years, their legacy, too, endures. The Farm" is a celebration of that legacy, a tribute to the men, women and children who have been the foundation of Ontario's development and the key to its prosperity. "The Farm" is a unique record of agriculture in Ontario, for it presents images old and new that together provide a fascinating glimpse of continuity and change." PROFUSELY ILLUSTRATED in the early 20th century vintage black-and-white photography of Reuben Sallows and the modern era full-color photography of John de Visser, all with accompanying descriptive captions 120 pages. Brandy and her lover have been shot down by the leader of a rival motorcycle gang, who takes refuge in the woodshed of Cod's mother Miriam. Miriam believes him to be the resurrection of her long-dead husband Dodder. And so the family engages in the universal dance of sex and death in this mordantly funny new novel by one of our most imaginative writers.…
