Añadir al carritoAntiquarian hardcover; later o. Condición: Fair. No Jacket. First Edition. Antiquarian hardcover; later or repaired binding. 1867. First Edition. No ISBN — pre-ISBN publication. Fair antiquarian hardcover, apparently rebound or substantially repaired at an earlier date, with worn tan boards and a burgundy cloth spine. Boards are heavily rubbed, scratched, stained, and worn at the edges and corners. Spine label is heavily worn and cracked. Title page and other leaves show foxing, staining, age toning, and occasional edge wear. Period ownership label is affixed inside the front cover. Binding is holding but should be handled carefully. Sold as photographed; no restoration has been attempted. Scarce 1867 first edition of General Lafayette C. Baker's firsthand history of Civil War-era federal detective and intelligence operations, including wartime espionage, counterfeiting investigations, and matters surrounding the Lincoln assassination. This copy bears a period ownership label that appears to read "J. H. Wickersham, Co. F, 2nd Ohio Heavy Artillery, 4th Division, 23rd Army Corps, Greenfield, Ohio." The military organization on the label corresponds with the documented history of the regiment; the individual's identity has not been independently confirmed.
