Añadir al carrito240 pp.; 23 x 16 cm.; sewn bound; black-and-white; edition size unknown; unsigned and unnumbered; offset-printed "We owe our idea of the contemporary exhibition to Harald Szeemann--the first of the jet-setting international curators. From 1961 to 1969, he was Curator of the Kunsthalle Bern, where in 1968 he had the foresight to give Christo and Jeanne-Claude the opportunity to wrap the entire museum building. Szeemann''s groundbreaking 1969 exhibition When Attitudes Become Form, also at the Kunsthalle, introduced European audiences to artists like Joseph Beuys, Eva Hesse, Richard Serra and Lawrence Weiner. It also introduced the now-commonplace practice of curating an exhibition around a theme. Since Szeemann''s death in 2005, there has been research underway at his archive in Tessin, Switzerland. An invaluable resource, this volume provides access to previously unpublished plans, documents and photographs from the archive, along with important essays by Hal Foster and Jean-Marc Poinsot. There is also an informative interview with Tobia Bezzola--curator at the Kunsthauz Zurich and Szeemann''s collaborator for many years. Two of Szeemann''s most ambitious exhibitions are presented as case studies: Documenta 5 (1972) and L''Autre, the 4th Lyon Biennial (1997). A biography, an illustrated chronology of Szeemann''s exhibitions and a selection of his writings complete this exhaustive survey." -- publisher''s statement. Texts by Szeemann, Yves Aupetitallot, Mark Nash, Florence Derieux, Hal Foster, Jean-Marc Poinsot, François Aubart, Fabien Pinaroli, Balthasar Burkhard, Sadie Woods, Karin Prätorius, Urs and Rös Graf, Lucia Pesapane, Irmeline Lebeer and John Anthony Thwaites, Jean-Christophe Ammann, Bazon Brock, François Burkhardt, Johannes Cladders, Lucia Pesapane, Claes Oldenburg, Lawrence Weiner, Haeju Kim, Julija Cistiakova, Yuka Tokuyama, Thierry Prat, Thierry Raspail, Chris Burden. Copiously illustrated with images of Szeemann, exhibitions curated by Szeemann. Illustrated chronology of exhibitions curated / organized by Szeemann, selected bibliography. Very Good. Añadir al carritoSoftcover. Condición: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 17 x 24 cm, 178 pages with numerous colour illustrations. - An artist, film-maker and documentarist, Mika Taanila (born 1965, lives and works in Helsinki) integrates and goes beyond the various planes of contemporary art. His films, video clips and installations are built according to the principles of connection, interaction and collaboration. Between sound and image, between the latest electronic culture and technological aspirations of the 1960s, between documentary film and advanced experiment, between fiction and reality, Taanila is working out a novel and protean approach to our representations of modernity and progress through his futuristic techno-utopias.

1st Edition. First edition, first printing. Soft cover. Photographically illustrated wrappers; no dust jacket as issued. Paintings by Anselm Reyle. Text in German and English. Essays by Bruce Hainley and Dominic Eichler. Includes a list of illustrations, biography, exhibition history and a bibliography. 248 pp., with 200 six-color plates. 11-1/4 x 8-1/4 inches. Published on the occasion of an exhibition at Kunsthalle Zürich. Fine. From the publisher: "This luxurious four-color album, with two additional fluorescent colors, has been made to the young German artist's specifications. While Reyle is primarily a painter, it is light in particular with which his paintings are concerned, both the light hitting pigment on canvas and, particularly, electric light, pale and acid, from the lamps and neon signs of the modern landscape. His found objects, almost readymades, function, therefore, like indices to his pictorial work. The phosphorescence of the paint, or that the paint gives to the objects, can be understood as a puzzle about a problematic medium, one whose solution here induces a new confidence and surprising expectations and wakes up the gaze. Reyle is represented in New York by Gavin Brown.".

Z : 30,5 x 40,6 cm, in cardboard box, 440 pages, 210 b/w illustrations - In the early 1990's, while being a student at Glasgow's school of Art, Jonathan Monk began working on the series One in Ten in One . The artist photographed the outside of a box of Ilford photographic paper (usually decorated with a classic b/w photograph) and then printed this image onto each sheet of photo paper that was in the box. Up to now, there have been about 16 different versions of this conceptual piece, varying in format and number of paper sheets according to the various kinds of Ilford products. This volume for the first time displays the various versions of the project on 440 completely unreadable pages. The book comes in an Ilford box and is limited to an edition of 600 copies.

1100 gr.
