Hardcover. Condición: new. Hardcover. Note: This has the same content as The Salvation Bible Commentary: Revised and Expanded. I published the book under both titles, because many are unfamiliar with the term Arminian. The goal of this commentary is the vindication of original Christian beliefs regarding salvation, particularly belief in free will and conditional security. The primary focus is on salvation throughout and most of the biblical passages selected for inclusion were chosen with that criteria in mind. Although this is not intended to be a commentary on every verse of the Bible, I did go through every verse of the Bible, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, seeking any texts that might be misconstrued to oppose the doctrines of free will and conditional security. After selecting a biblical text for inclusion, I would search through post-Reformation commentaries from men who opposed Calvinistic determinism and unconditional security (i.e., Once Saved Always Saved). If I was not satisfied with the information contained in those commentaries, I branched out to other works as needed, typically until I found at least two entries from the pool of biblical commentaries I owned, the goal being to provide the reader with quality and variety. In instances where matters of translation were involved, I tried to utilize commentaries that dealt with translation. Unless otherwise noted, the commentary entries are unabridged. Whenever any commentary used is missing some of the verses under discussion in a multi-verse passage, it is because there were no entries in that commentary for those particular verses. In addition to the commentary entries I selected, I also included many entries from The Ante-Nicene Fathers (the locations given for the various quotes coincide with the ten-volume set produced by Hendrickson Publishers). These writings represent various early Christian beliefs existing up until the early 4th century. Some of their views differ from one another and differ from what I myself believe is an accurate view of biblical salvation. Notwithstanding, I made no attempt to conceal their views from the reader. On the contrary, I wanted to provide the reader with access to the variety, even when I disagreed with them. My hope being that the reader will see how, despite their differences, none of the early Christians believed in Calvinistic determinism or unconditional security. In addition to the sources already mentioned, I also read through much of The Works of James Arminius and The Works of John Wesley, pulling material from those works as well. Finally, I also have a sole entry from Andrew Murray, whose works were helpful to me as a young convert. Other than my own entries (which are original to the present work), all of the entries are taken from sources within the public domain. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…

Buch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - What if the earliest Christians did not believe what later theology insists about Jesus What if both history and Scripture point to a far different understanding of Christ than the one most people have inherited Restoring the Biblical Christ: Is Jesus God opens with a bold historical investigation into how early Christian beliefs developed across the first few centuries-long before creeds, councils, and political pressures hardened doctrine into dogma. These opening chapters reveal a surprisingly diverse theological landscape and expose how dramatically Christian thought shifted over time. But the heart of the book lies in what follows: a rigorous, text-centered re-examination of the Bible itself. Through meticulous analysis of Greek grammar, Hebrew patterns, contextual argumentation, and the inner logic of Scripture, this work challenges conventional interpretations of the passages most often cited to support Jesus' deity. The book tackles the major flashpoints head-on:What does John truly mean when he calls the Word 'God' What did Jesus intend with the statement 'Before Abraham was, I am' Why does Scripture say Jesus was worshipped, and what did 'worship' mean in a Jewish-monotheistic setting What is the actual meaning of 'form of God' in Philippians 2 How do textual variants in early manuscripts illuminate, or complicate, traditional readings Did the Bible originally teach that Jesus was born of a virgin Drawing from over 500 reference notes, this book brings together biblical exegesis, manuscript evidence, lexical research, and early Christian testimony to argue that the New Testament writers consistently teach:One God, the Father (1 Corinthians 8:6).Jesus the Messiah, a real human being acting as the agent of God (John 8:40).Rather than assuming later doctrinal categories, Restoring the Biblical Christ rebuilds Christology from the ground up, allowing Scripture and the earliest historical records to define who Jesus truly was. The result is a portrait of Jesus that is historically rooted, textually grounded, and profoundly coherent.Bold, meticulously argued, and unapologetically Scripture-driven, this book invites readers to rethink the most foundational question in Christianity:Who, according to the Bible itself, is Jesus Christ.…

Buch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Restoring the Biblical Christ: Is Jesus God argues that there is one God, the Father (1 Corinthians 8:6), that Jesus was a man (John 8:40) distinct from God (John 7:16-17), but that God revealed himself through Jesus (John 14:10). This position leaves many questions to be answered, like Why does the Bible say Jesus was worshipped Why is the Word called God in John 1:1 What did Jesus mean when he said, 'Before Abraham was, I am' Did Jesus preexist his humanity What did the earliest Christians believe about Jesus Where did the modern beliefs about Jesus come from All of these questions and more are addressed in detail within Restoring the Biblical Christ: Is Jesus God This book is jam-packed (over 500 reference notes) with little-known quotes from early Christianity, quotes from respected biblical scholars, and information on the earliest biblical manuscripts, detailing how certain 'theologically charged' texts should be translated .…
