A beautiful portrait of Roche and Grant on the cover of the dust jacket.…Some yellowing around the edges and shelfwear. Minor debossed imprint of writing on lower right hand corner of front barely visible, protected in mylar. The book recounts a three-week journey through southern Turkey in 1973, shared by Paul Roche and the 88-year-old artist Duncan Grant. Though Grant was in fragile health, Roche convinced him to take part in the trip-a journey marked by shared moments. Roche was not only Grant's companion and later caregiver, but also his model from earlier in their long friendship. DUNCAN GRANT (1885-1978) Duncan Grant was a British painter and designer of textiles, pottery, theatre sets and costumes and an active member of the Bloomsbury Group of intellectuals, philosophers and artists in the first half of the 20th century. Signed.
