This copy has been transcribed in English, written for metallogenists and students, intended for experts and thus basically meant to be practical disregarding not only the theoretical aspects of phenomena related to reflectance but also details on microscopic techniques. Part One is dedicated to the importance of metallographic methods in the study of and prospecting for mineral, and to the use of these methods with a description of the apparatus used.
