The reason is that he writes social comedy - there is no other kind in literature - which is looked down upon as the lesser art, not to be taken seriously, except, of course, by readers and critics who do take literature seriously. An absolute "must-have" title for James Wilcox collectors. This copy is very prominently and beautifully signed in black ink-pen on the front free endpaper by James Wilcox. It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. This title is a great book. This is one of few such signed copies of the First Hardcover Edition/First Printing still available online and despite its imperfection (slight browning on DJ corners and spine, but it's there) is still in especially fine condition: Every single internal page is clean, crisp, and bright.
