Añadir al carritoFirst edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the poet on the front free endpaper, "For June, Happy Birthday May 2002, with our love, Molly and Mary and Ben". Molly Malone Cook, the influential photographer who was Oliver's partner and literary agent, has signed her own name. The anthology is dedicated by Oliver to Cook. Accompanying the artistic couple in the inscription is Ben, their dog. This volume collects forty poems that meditate on loss and belonging, expressed through Oliver's signature natural imagery. Loosely inserted into this copy are three newspaper clippings. These include an obituary for Mary Malone Cook in the couple's local newspaper, the Provincetown Banner, and Oliver's poem "Oxygen" printed in the New Yorker, both dated 2005. Oliver (1935-2019) won the Pulitzer prize in 1984 and the National Book Award in 1992. Primarily a poet of nature, she lived for most of her writing career in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and has been compared to Emerson and Emily Dickinson. Square octavo. Original blue quarter cloth, grey paper sides, grey endpapers. With dust jacket. Corners gently bumped; jacket unclipped, minor creasing to extremities, a few marks to panels: a near-fine copy in very good jacket.…
