Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: New. 32 pages. This guide is a result of the contractor members of the Association of Concrete Flooring Contractors identifying the need for some simple guidance on what intervention should be expected to a floor in order to maintain its serviceability. It is important to state that floors need to be maintained at regular intervals throughout their service life to ensure efficient operation of the materials handling equipment (MHE). Even with the best floor designs and proper construction, it is unrealistic to expect floors to be crack and curl free. Floors, in particular joints, will suffer damage under the day-to-day action of MHE. Before any intervention, the reason for the breakdown of a floor element must be ascertained before a reinstatement approach is implemented. This Good Concrete Guide Maintenance and repair of industrial concrete floors is a culmination of discussions and recommendations from the concrete flooring industry. Although no publication can be definitive, this guidance identifies many of the characteristic features associated with an industrial floor which do not affect serviceability, as well as defects that occur due to normal wear and tear . Basic reinstatement methods are proposed depending on the level of damage identified.

Añadir al carritopaperback. Condición: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.

Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: New. 14 pages : ilustr. ; 30 cm. Report of a Working Party of the Concrete Society Construction Standing Committee. Good Concrete Guide. Pumping is a very convenient and efficient way of distributing concrete, both vertically and horizontally. Concrete is regularly pumped over 50m vertically and 500m horizontally, although much greater heights and distances have been achieved. Since the publication of the Concrete Society Digest on Pumping Concrete in 1984(1), the placement of concrete by pumping has increased in popularity and is now commonplace in the United Kingdon. Concrete pumps in a variety of formats and related equipment are now widely available. Pumping concrete can be economical in many circumstances and should be considered for a wide range of applications and any pour size. With the range of pumping options currently available even a single or part-load of concrete can be placed economically, depending on the application. Pumps suitable for most kinds of work with varied and flexible hire arrangements are available in all parts of the UK. This Guide should assist in the planning and organisation of concrete placement by pump.

It is a self-contained system not relying on support or access from other parts of the structure and requires little cranage once in operation, as it climBS using an array of jacks on rods cast into the concrete for its support. The reinforced concrete structure is effectively extruded from the sliding formwork. This Good Concrete Guide is intended for those interested in the general process of vertical slipforming and the many applications where the technique can be used. It covers the components, materials, management, finishing and benefits associated with this economic and versatile form of construction.

There has been considerable debate in the construction industry about the relevance of BS 8203, Code of practice for installation of resilient floor coverings, in particular about the relative humidity of the concrete before laying coverings. In response to this, the Concrete Society, partly funded by the DETR Partners in Technology programme, contracted Taylor Woodrow Engineering Ltd to prepare and monitor various concrete substrates and tile/ adhesive combinations laid at a range of relative humidities. This Report discusses the measurement of moisture in concrete and the perceived effect of moisture on the adhesion of impermeable floor coverings relative to the requirements of the code of practice.

The maximum water to binder (w/b) ratio is an important aspect of most specifications as it is used as measure of concrete durability. The more aggressive the exposure environment, the lower is the specified maximum w/b ratio. Evidence that the effective water content has been calculated correctly is a key to conformity and central to the proof that the maximum w/b ratio has not been exceeded. This publication describes current practice in calculating effective water content for production and conformity control with respect to w/b ratio and highlights the shortcomings and misinterpretation of batch records.
