Añadir al carritoBuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware -Immunofluorescence, a suitable laboratory method for themicroscopic demonstration of antigens and antibodies in biologicalmaterials, useable, for example, to provide evidence for thepathogenesis of disease in histological or cytological preparations andfor tumour cell differentiation. For this reason immunofluorescence hasa decisive role as the method of choice for the diagnosis of auto-immunediseases. This primer on immunofluorescence techniques, which firstappeared in 1979, is a richly illustrated handbook suitable for everydaypractical work in the laboratory, useable as both an introduction to thesubject as well as an atlas. In hardly any other area of medicine arethere so many new findings to report. The second edition of this book isconcerned not only with the detection methods which now form anessential and established part of diagnostic techniques, but also withthe most recent research results such as the discovery of antibodiesagainst Auerbach's plexus and against podocytes.Springer Basel AG in Springer Science + Business Media, Heidelberger Platz 3, 14197 Berlin 252 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Extending the range of enzymatic catalysis by using non-aqueous media has now developed into a powerful approach in biochemistry and biotechnology. One peculiar feature which distinguishes it from the conventional enzymology (carried out in aqueous buffers) is that the awareness of different parameters that control and influence the behaviour of enzymes in such environments has emerged rather slowly. Science is about being able to repeat what somebody else has done. Absence of knowledge about such well-defined parameters/fac tors has sometimes made some workers rather cautious and diffident about using this approach in their laboratories. But for this, non-aqueous enzymol ogy would be more widely practised. It is these thoughts that made me feel that the availability of some well-defined protocols for various applications invol ving enzymes in non-aqueous environments would further catalyze the growth of this area. Hence this book, in which each chapter has some protocols in a specific area. The protocols are preceded by brief background material. The early chapters, which are of general importance, concern control of water ac tivity and stabilization via immobilization. Some subsequent chapters provide the protocols for transformations involving lipids and carbohydrates, peptide synthesis, and preparation of chiral compounds. The disproportionate focus on lipases is not a coincidence; this class of enzymes has been used more often than others in non-aqueous enzymology. 232 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -This book is intended to be both a thorough introduction to contemporary research in optimization theory for elliptic systems with its numerous applications and a textbook at the undergraduate and graduate level for courses in pure or applied mathematics or in continuum mechanics. Various processes of modern technology and production are described by el liptic partial differential equations. Optimization of these processes reduces to op timization problems for elliptic systems. The numerical solution of such problems is associated with the solution of the following questions. 1. The setting of the optimization problem ensuring the existence of a solution on a set of admissible controls, which is a subset of some infinite-dimensional vector space. 2. Reduction of the infinite-dimensional optimization problem to a sequence of finite-dimensional problems such that the solutions of the finite-dimensional problems converge, in a sense, to the solution of the infinite-dimensional problem.3. Numerical solution of the finite-dimensional problems.Springer Basel AG in Springer Science + Business Media, Heidelberger Platz 3, 14197 Berlin 548 pp. Englisch.
