Curious work of pop culture, important because it's the first book for both Novack and Zipser. Shortly after compiling this work in 1933 Novack joined the Trotskyist movement, where he became known for his defense of Trotsky against Stalinist attacks, for his work with John Dewey, his bad puns, and later for his writings on Marxist philosophy. Zipser took a different path, at some point joining the Communist Party and in the 1950s he was William Z. Foster's secretary and research assistant, and later the author of biographies of both Foster and Rose Pastor Stokes. The illustrator, Bennett, seems to have had a normal career as an artist and children's book illustrator.
