Documents the true story of Sally & Bill Lippincott, a young couple from the East who moved to the Navaho Indian Reservation in northern Arizona to take over an old trading post at Wide Ruins, & there made the acquaintance of a shy small boy who created marvelous paintings using a pointed stone for a stylus. Over the next four years while they were there, the couple encouraged the boy & watched his talent flourish as he created moving depictions of the desert & Navaho life. Full-color reproductions of the paintings of the "Navaho Boy Artist,'' Beatien "Jimmy" Yazz, aka "Little No-Shirt," from the Lippincott's collection are presented here throughout the 173 pages of text.
