Añadir al carritoMike Somerson Ilustrador. 1st Edition. Mike Somerson. 1st Edition. WOODSTOCK. 3 DAYS OF PEACE AND MUSIC. Original Woodstock Program. Woodstock, n.d. [1969]. Printed wrappers. Quarto [4to.], unpaginated 52 pages printed on different weights of paperstock, some glossy, some matte, onion skin flyleafs with elaborate graphic design & photography throughout. A very elaborate & handsome production. This program is the source for all of the events scheduled during the original Woodstock Music and Arts Festival, held on August 15, 16, & 17 1969 at Max Yasgur's 600 acre dairy farm in Bethel, New York/ While the majority of the programs that were eventually distributed did not escape the wear & the weather - it poured torrentially the Monday after the event, a small cache did survive undistributed. This is one of those rare copies. The condition of this program which is now over 50 years old is fine, fresh & unblemished. The design is definitive late '60's. Article by Abbie Hoffman. There is a listing of all of the bands that played each day. Excellent shots of Joplin, Haven, Beck, The Band, Sly, Hendrix, et al.This festival became a 3 days love-in to 500,000 who eventually attended, and of which most of whom did not pay admission. These concert goers had the privilege to see such performances as Jimi Hendrix performing his "The Star Spangled Banner" who played one of the greatest and most shocking renditions of the American anthem, as well as The Who, Credence Clearwater Revival, Crosby Stills and Nash, and Jefferson Airplane to name but a few! A superb copy.

Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Good. 1st Edition. 3 Days of Peace and Music, An Aquarian Exposition. Original 1969 full concert program, original ticket stub to Saturday, August 16th performance and extremely rare original promotional flyer printed prior to the show, advertising the original Wallkill, NY location. The location was eventually changed to the now famous Yasgur s Dairy Farm located near Bethel, NY. The Wallkill location was rejected by the town and thus the flyer was scrapped and the festival images reimagined. The flyer features the stunning David Byrd design and measures 4.5 inches x 7.25 inches and is original. The ticket stub for the Saturday show is in fine condition showing only the slightest bit of fading due to age. The program, which was handed out to concertgoers as a way of providing information on performances is a stunning relic from a simpler time. It is a true first run of the program, which features the f blotted out by the flower in the background. This was later corrected in the reprints of this program. The program itself is amazing, containing full page and sometimes double page promotional ads for each acts, including; The Grateful Dead, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, The Band, Joplin, Joe Cocker and more! Of course we know that it rained havily over the weekend and most of the programs were damaged beyond the point of which preservation made sense. This copy survived though it has some water damage from those legendary storms, with some waviness and some of the pages were stuck together. Soiling. Ticket, Program and Original Promotional Flyer included and all are now protected in mylar.
