Añadir al carritoCondición: Very Good ++. Jacket Condition: Very Good +. 1st US Edition, 1st Printing. 14 x 20. 6 cm orange cloth with black titles to the spine, [vi] 217[1]pp with original unclipped jacket priced at $5.00. The boards have been well protected by the dust jacket and are clean with bright titles. There is just a touch of pushing to the head of the spine and a tiny bruise on the bottom corner of the rear board. Internally clean, without name, inscription or bookplate and just a hint of spotting to the very edge of the text block, which appears not to have spread onto the pages. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown), has a crease down the length of the front flap and a little light dust staining and toning to the top and bottom edges. A good looking copy. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.

Añadir al carrito214 x 210 mm. 1 p. A note of advice by William S. Burroughs, who spent a career nervously preoccupied with winning and losing in gambling, in art, and in life: "Winning and losing come in streaks. Plunge when you are winning and fold when you are losing. To him that has shall be given. From him that has not shall be taken even what he has - when he doubles up in a losing streak [.]". - The note echoes sentiments from his seminal work, Naked Lunch, where the Burroughs-esque narrator tangles winning and losing in terms of queerness and masculinity, and the vagaries of betting on the races. Burroughs was invested in this gambling metaphor throughout his long career, and continued to mention it in his interviews in the 1980s and 1990s. In many ways, it is one of his central themes. - In excellent condition.
