The object of this book is to minister to those needs by means of direct practice in the kinds of lettering most required by engineers, architects, and surveyors. This book consists of a description of the text as outlined in the following descriptive exercise, for students to copy. This goes on for some 200 pages. At the end of the text there are 4 pull-out pages demonstrating the actual use of the prescribed handwritten letters in documents. It is likely that there are examples of text never seen today.
