Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: New. With a population of about six hundred million people, and a combined GNP of more than US$ 2.4 trillion, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is set to become the seventh largest economy in the world. Launched in December 2015, the AEC unveiled initiatives to create a single market and production zone, a competitive and equitable region, and integrated links to the global economy. ASEAN Champions seeks to address the role of the strong local firms in regional integration, how these 'champions' succeeded and endured, despite facing adverse circumstances, and the factors that facilitated or impeded their participation in regional integration. The book provides insights for future firm and government-led strategies to enhance the integration process. By complementing current narratives that focus on macroeconomic, socio-political, and trade considerations, Park, Ungson and Francisco offer an enlightening and engaging read, ideally suited to academics and professionals alike.

DJ has slight wear and soiling and some sticker residue at back. In the 1960s, Korea embarked on an ambitious program of economic development. By the 1980s, the pace of development had accelerated, and Korean companies were beginning to shed their reputation as second-rate, low-tech producers. In the 1990s, strategies of technological and managerial innovation were officially codified by President Kim as Segyehwa, loosely translated as "globalization, " but more generally understood by Koreans as a philosophy and mission to achieve global status in politics, business, education, communications, technology, and the arts. In this book, the authors trace the evolution of Korea's globalization movement and assess the prospects for Korean competitiveness in the future. Despite tremendous advances over the past three decades, Korean enterprises face considerable challenges if they intend to sustain a competitive edge in the global marketplace. The authors identify seven key challenges in the areas of industrial policy, technological innovation, management practice, organizational design, entrepreneurship, and human resource investment. The authors explore the relationships among national culture, management practice, and government policy. Gerardo R. Ungson is the Y.F. He has authored 40 journal articles and co-authored 5 books: Decision Making: An Interdisciplinary Inquiry, Managing Effective Organizations, Chaebol: Korea's New Industrial Might, Korean Enterprise: The Quest for Globalization, and Engines for Prosperity: New Templates for the Information Age.
