Añadir al carritoFirst edition, early printing of the deluxe novelization of the 2018 American musical fantasy film starring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins. Octavo, original illustrated wrappers, illustrated with color photographs from the film. Signed by Angela Lansbury opposite the title page. Lansbury played played the role of the Balloon Lady, a kindly old woman who sells balloons at the park. The part was written to be a cameo role for Julie Andrews who portrayed Mary Poppins in the original film, but she turned the role down as she felt her presence would unfairly take attention away from Emily Blunt. In fine condition. Rare signed. Based on the book series Mary Poppins by P. L. Travers, Mary Poppins Returns debuted in 2018 as a live-action and traditionally animated sequel to the classic 1964 film Mary Poppins, starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. The film stars Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins, with supporting roles from Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Dick Van Dyke, Angela Lansbury, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep, and David Warner in his final film appearance. Set in London during the Great Depression, the film sees Mary Poppins, the former nanny of Jane and Michael Banks, return to them in the wake of the death of Michael's wife. The film grossed $349 million worldwide and received positive reviews from critics, who praised the performances of the cast (particularly that of Blunt and Miranda), direction, visuals, musical score, musical numbers, and costume design.
